Article 06-Leadership Styles and Their Influence on Employee Productivity
A team's or organization's culture, morale, and production are all greatly influenced by the leadership present. The attitudes, engagement, and general job performance of employees are significantly impacted by different leadership styles. I will explore different leadership philosophies and how they affect worker productivity in this blog (Kesting,2015).
Autocratic Leadership: Commanding Direction
Autocratic rulers make judgments on their own and demand that their orders be strictly followed. While this management style can guarantee prompt decisions and unambiguous guidance, it may inhibit innovation and reduce employee involvement. Employee motivation may decline and potential productivity may suffer if they feel their opinions aren't recognized (Nanjundeswaraswamy, 2014).
Democratic Leadership: Fostering Collaboration
Democratic leaders encourage collaboration and open communication by involving their team members in decision-making processes. This management style encourages employees to share their ideas, which may increase motivation and job satisfaction. Democratic leaders may encourage creativity and innovation by recognizing different points of view, which will ultimately increase productivity by increasing employee engagement (Nanjundeswaraswamy, 2014).
Transformational Leadership: Inspiring Excellence
Visionaries, transformational leaders encourage and inspire their employees to produce outstanding outcomes. They put a lot of emphasis on maximizing the potential of their workers, establishing high standards, and supporting ongoing improvement. Employees that are led in this way feel more purposeful and committed, which improves job satisfaction and motivates them to go above and beyond to accomplish objectives (Nanjundeswaraswamy, 2014).
Transactional Leadership: Clarifying Expectations
Reward and penalty systems are used by transactional leaders. They set down precise performance standards, reward employees who meet them, and handle issues through corrective actions. Although this strategy can support stability and order, it might not encourage intrinsic drive in workers. Productivity gains could be restricted to achieving particular aims rather than embracing more general organizational objectives (Nanjundeswaraswamy, 2014).
Laissez-Faire Leadership: Nurturing Independence
Laissez-faire CEOs give their staff members a lot of freedom and independence in making decisions. While this management style can support smart, self-driven individuals, it may cause uncertainty and a lack of direction for others. Servant leaders place a high value on their employees' development and well-being. They put a lot of effort into offering resources, support, and direction so that their team members can succeed. Adaptive Leadership: Flexibility in Action
Adaptive leaders modify their strategy in accordance with the unique requirements of their team and the current situation. This leadership style can produce a dynamic and responsive work environment since it calls for the leader to be adaptable and open to change. Employees are more likely to be engaged and productive when they believe their boss understands and addresses their needs(Nanjundeswaraswamy, 2014).

Driven by effective leadership, workforce productivity can be increased. Employees' potential can be hampered or inspired depending on the leadership style used.
